RSA: You’re the new commissioner of the Tuesday morning over 55 league.
Why did you accept the job?

Bill: There were some changes I wanted to see made to the league
and I also wanted to add a younger voice to the managers.

RSA: There are many facets to this job. What’s the hardest task, biggest
challenge, you’ve had to overcome.

Bill: The biggest challenge so far as commissioner is getting the six
managers to agree on things and not trying to outdo each other or try to
shape the rules in their favor.

RSA: We’re at the halfway point of the season, what has been you biggest
success, accomplishment?

Bill: I think the biggest accomplishment is the new rule on
substitutions. I think that the league is a lot closer now and people
actually, enjoy that instead of using subs that are either not good enough
or past their prime. I also think everyone in the league respects me and
respects my decisions and I appreciate it.

RSA: The Tuesday morning league has several pages of rules. If you
could change one, what would it be?

Bill: The one rule I would change is that any runner can run at
anytime as long as they don’t run more than once per inning.

RSA: Last question, where do you see the Tuesday league in ten years?
Bill: I see the league not existing in ten years unless
something is done to get younger guys to play. The issue with that is
there is not a large group of players in that age range like there has
been over the last ten to fifteen years.
